Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the influential digital role-playing game Disco Elysium from the perspective of the work of art as a fragment that bears witness to history. Through a discussion of the game's narrative and its language's own representational codes, our objective is to present this game as a representation of the memory of an indistinct time and place called here the "end of history", originating from the fall of the former Soviet Union and based on Fukuyama's text, which will be problematized through Walter Benjamin's theses on the philosophy of history.
