Abstract
This article investigates the processes of subjective constitution and social space in relation to the creation of gender and class differences. These processes occur in constant reference to representations of femininity and masculinity identified in Cúcuta, Norte de Santander: the “traquetos”, “Venezuelans” and “transvestites”, among others, in which the body plays a significant role in its recognition. These constitutive processes were evaluated based on gender and class relations, mediated by language, socializing spaces, and peer groups. The sample population consisted of twenty tenth grade students from two schools in the city of Cúcuta - the Santo Ángel School and the San José School - with which group interviews were developed during 2014. My life experience recorded in the field diary was also analyzed in this research.
