Abstract

The review of the book "Communication and the Third Sector of Social Action," edited by Lorena López Font, provides a comprehensive analysis of the reputation of NGOs in Spain and Latin America. Published in 2023 by Tirant Humanidades, the text compiles 17 articles from 30 authors across 15 universities, addressing topics such as corporate social responsibility, communication management, and the impact of social media on the reputation of organizations. The review emphasizes the need for authentic and adaptive communication in the third sector, particularly in the context of contemporary challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. It highlights the importance of transparency, ethics, and good governance in building the reputation of NGOs.

Bárbara Tomiatti Giancola, Universitat Jaume I

D. candidate in International Studies in Peace, Conflict and Development at the Universitat Jaume I, Post Graduate in Transpersonal Psychology at the International University of Peace (Unipaz São Paulo), Master in Communication with Social Purposes at the University of Valladolid and Degree in Public Relations at the Cásper Líbero Faculty. She is a researcher in Education and Communication for Peace at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón de la Plana, Spain and a doctoral researcher invited by the Escola de Comunicação e Artes of the Universidade de São Paulo (ECA USP) in Brazil. She is founding director of the agency Comunica com Alma.
