International migration processes from Framing theory: state of the art and reflections from a global journalism perspective and visual media production

Abstract
is article presents a review of the specialized literature on framing theory or media framing in the coverage of migration processes. It is composed of 32 articles published in academic journals specialized in the field of communication and social sciences indexed in databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, Dianlnet, Scielo, Wos and Google Scholar. A systematization of the literature was carried out to identify publication year, methodology, theoretical approach/ s, theoretical paradigm and geographic focus of the migratory process. e main objective of this work is to resume the discussion in relation to framing and migration research to observe the state of the discussion on an increasingly constant communicational phenomenon in various parts of the world, such as the communication of migrations. It focuses mainly on publications from 2015 to 2023. In conclusion, they offer some general aspects of the systematization of literature and outline some reflections on the importance of the media in the coverage of current migration processes.
