Abstract

This article presents the results of the section "Ethical challenges in communication management in organizations" developed in the fourth edition of the Latin American Communication Monitor, LCM 2020-2021. The quantitative study applies a self-administered survey in 20 Latin American countries, consulting practitioners on various topics of interest for organizational communication, which are followed up every two years. The analysis focuses on the opinions about the ethical challenges of professionals working in communication management, in the context of critical situations that generate a more demanding environment in professional behavior with an impact on social life. The framework of discussion of these results focuses on the theoretical contributions of communication studies, the currents of analysis of communi-cation in organizations and the relationship of ethics with the social impacts generated by the daily practices of those who practice the profession and the organizational discourses they promote.
