Collective processes of organization and production in Latin-American community cinema

Abstract
Between 2011 and 2012 a regional research on community audiovisual in Latin America and Caribe was developed, funded by the Fundación del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano (FNCL), with support from Unesco’s International Fund for Cultural Diversity. The author coordinated the research, carried out in fourteen countries by a group of researchers from the region: Pocho Álvarez (Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela), Irma Ávila Pietrasanta (México and Central America), Horacio Campodónico (Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay), Vincent Carelli and Janaina Rocha (Brasil), Jesús Guanche and Idania Licea (Cuba and insular Caribe), Cecilia Quiroga (Bolivia, Chile and Perú). This text synthetize the research results, published in extenso in the book: Community Cinema in Latin Amercia and Caribe (2012).
