Strategies for teaching/learning historical and cultural heritage. The case of Colonial Museum-Santa Clara Church Museum

Abstract

Museums today are generating actions more aware about educational processes that enable the transmission and construction of knowledge in relation to their collections and content. This paper presents examples of education and teaching strategies for the appropriation of historical and cultural heritage, from the proposed by the educational area of the Museo Colonial-Museo Iglesia Santa Clara in 2011. These experiences were driven by two objectives: firstly the inclusion of various audiences that have historically been marginalized in museums; ande secondly the interaction, which enables greater ownership and participation of visitors in relation to heritage and knowledge that is constructed in the museum.
