Abstract

A instantes (2017) materializes the desire to see the situation of the political prisoners –men and women– in the prisons of Colombia after the signing of the Agreement of Peace. The process of creating the work intertwines two languages: audiovisual and photographic. The methodology revolves around a polaroid photograph taken by a female prisoner and, immediately after the capture, the photo is placed in the hand of the portrayed to let the audiovisual camera document, from the perspective of an anonymous witness, the image of that person who is just “moments” away to regain his/her freedom. From the performance around the snapshot, a parallel work occurs, this one originating from symbols and elements of the environment that insinuate longings, which show the precariousness of the prison system and that combine in the body and space that reveal what is beyond the walls. This work was carried out with the support of the coalition of organizations “Larga vida a las mariposas” and of the audiovisual director Luis David Acosta.
