MEDIACIONES is a biannual scientific, academic, and creative publication edited by the School of Creativity, Communication, and Culture at UNIMINUTO. Conceived as a platform for presenting research, creative work, and reflective contributions, the journal centers on communication and its mediations.

 

Generate a deep understanding of the inter-, multi- and trans-disciplinary connections that drive social change through structured and critical analysis in the field of communication.

 

Revista MEDIACIONES explores the following thematic areas:

• Communication and Citizen Participation: Explores languages, ways of thinking, media, and participatory communication processes. Topics include: community participation, problematization of communication participation, conflict management, network building among social actors, communication for social change, and community-led experiences.

• Communication and Culture: Examines meaning, relationships, and interactions within socio-cultural and political transformations. Topics include: communication transformation in technology, subjectivity, contemporary communicative manifestations, intercultural communication, and discourse and language.

• Communication and Education: Focuses on the relationship between identity formation and meaning-making, communicative practices in educational contexts, modern schooling tensions, and creation of alternative spaces.

• Audiovisual Thought: Creation, significance, and representation through image, sound, and corporeality. Topics include: image usage in community contexts, proposals for image and sound appropriation, and social mobilization through representation.

 

• Editorial: Reflective articles highlighting the importance of contributions in each issue and their impact on the communication field.
• Research and Innovation: Original research, innovation, and research-creation contributions, completed or in progress.
• Reflections: Analytical and critical reflections on specific topics.
• Artifacts: Showcases of graphic, audiovisual, sonic, multimedia, and transmedia works.
• Reviews: Critical commentary on publications relevant to the field.

 

MEDIACIONES Journal invites the academic and scientific community interested in a critical and reflective approach to communication and its societal impact to submit their contributions.

The journal maintains an open call for submissions as well as thematic calls for special issues.
