Weave, build and learn from the past: relationships between historical consciousness building and teacher training

Abstract

In the formation of history and social sciences teachers are in a duality between teaching the specific discipline with training and educational intentions, which raises the question of how and why to learn from the past and the implications of this training around citizens. This approach is the base of the project “formation of historical consciousness from the study of regional history” that used a Grounded Theory methodology look to find the relationships in the meanings for teachers and students have on historical consciousness and implications in teacher education. The intention of this work is reflect from the background and state of the art about the historical consciousness and later contrast with the representations of teachers and students in the Social Sciences program at the University of Caldas, Manizales, Colombia.

Se desempeña como docente universitaria y joven investigadora de Colciencias para la Universidad de Caldas en el marco del grupo de investigación Maestros y Contextos.
