Abstract
The use of social networks in the student population continues to increase because of the proliferation of platforms and applications with more interaction joined to the easy accessibility, the lack of parental care and the absence of politics to rule the behavior within these sites. These approaches are based on documentary research of more than 240 social networks, applications and sites categorized by its descriptions. Many sites are socially supportive, but others are considered NSFW (Not-Safe-for-Work). After the analysis it is concluded that social networks promote the exchange of information at different levels of support and morality, but the lack of public policies to require the use and adequate treatment of information to positively influence society stands out.
