Abstract

The notional security doctrine is analyzed from its political and social roots, and from o European and Latin-American context. The article compares some experiences related to the implementation of this doctrine in Latin-America and Europe during the cold war period as to underscore the perpetuation of some of its principles embedded in military actions and international threats legitimated by supranational powers.
