Navigating Team Dynamics: The Impact of Collaborative Projects on Engineering Students

Abstract

Abstract: This article analyzes a collaborative learning activity conducted in October 2024 by Industrial Civil Engineering students from the Univer-sity of Valparaíso, together with professors from Corporación Universitaria  Minuto de Dios - UNIMINUTO. The activity consisted of building paper boats at each time. Through this experience, students developed essen-tial skills such as communication, organization, and division of roles, evi-dencing their importance in successful teamwork. Participants reflected on their learning, highlighting that clear and continuous communication, as well as the appropriate assignment of tasks, optimizes group performance. 


The study concludes that collaborative learning is an effective approach to improve educational experience and prepare students for future professional challen-ges.
