Abstract
This article’s purpose is to offer conceptual, methodological and pedagogical elements on community work, through the analysis of the author’s field experience in the locality of Los Mártires, during the project on Social Management and Early Childhood Care.
The narration of this experience has proven to be an effective dialectic strategy in the course on Social Work with the Community (Intervention Workshop III) at the Universidad Minuto de Dios. It has allowed the students to reflect on the problems, potentials and fragilities of the community’s social fabric, complemented by conceptual contributions from several authors and recognizing the reality of the communities.
The article shows the territory as a favorable place for constructing social fabric, filling the meeting places for people with meaning and propitiating the social framework for coexistence.
