Abstract

The Center of Development Education – CED of the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios has been working on a research project on Development Education since February 2009 called “Development Education: A State of Art”. This article is a report on the progress this research has made. The objective of this research is to do a formal and critical review regarding the current state of the conceptual developments as well as the practices and methodologies presented by the Development Education approach expressed by different organizations and institutions, with the final and explicit purpose of enriching our knowledge on the subject and suggest a future educational model based on these reflections. For this effect we present an initial analysis based on the documents related to the historical evolution of the Development Education concept and suggest further reflections around other questions this research must answer.
