The concept of life-world (Lebenswelt) in Daniel Herrera Restrepo’s phenomenology

Abstract

This paper makes an outline of Life-World concept of Colombian phenomenologist Daniel Herrera Restrepo based on some of his documents. With this purpose in mind, it is examined two issues of the reading made by Herrera Restrepo about the father of phenomenology (Husserl); first, Husserl’s critics to Cartesian philosophy and second, the development of the concept of self in his phenomenology. Also, it is shown some definitions and characteristics of Life-World (Lebenswelt) that Colombian phenomenologist attributes to it. Afterwards, a general overview of the same concept is made by observing the most encompasses definitions proposed by the author. Finally, it is briefly mentioned two works that study Colombian land in phenomenological perspective.
