Abstract
This article aims to manifest the role of Human Rights as a discourse and a tool to confront the national historical episodes of violence and violations. The emphasis of this analytical effort of the different forms of violence that for many years, not only Colombia, but also, Latin America has had to deal with; consists of generating awareness in the importance that these issues will have in the debates regarding Torture and Human Rights Forums as the main and essential focal point. Although, that at the time, there have many attempts in public debates and in the media, this is an issue that has been transformed as the central idea for speeches and the actions of political actors during the subsequently decodes.
