Habits of Academic Reading in the training of educators for children

Abstract

The develop reading critical skill is necessary on higher education in order to answer socially demand. The Licenciature Childhood Education does an investigation, where the students make test Saber Pro according their disciplinary text. It is a pedagogical proposal, then provide to student’s strategies for reading their discipline´s texts and make test Saber Pro. The theory referring is: reading habits in university students and critical reading and higher education. This is a qualitative research is. Its focus is empirical analytic and it has a quasi-experimental method. After applying the questionnaire, the results are: students do not read the text of discipline enough and reading time is short, so the reading is a mechanical activity and students do not develop critical reading skills.
