Poverty measurements in crisis contexts. A view from social citizenship

Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the different perspectives of measuring poverty, with its advantages, its disadvantages and its limitations and the evolution of its different approaches over time. This paper highlights the integrality of the “abilities and rights” perspective and emphasizes the Colombian case using the data presented on income poverty. Finally, this article indicates the scope of the different measurement poverty index.
