Abstract

This article argues that globalization is a fusion of a process to which humanity has arrived at. Also a natural polysemy concept that other ideas are similar to it, such as McLuhan 's "Global Village" or "World-System" used by the philosopher Wallerstein. Other related concepts that have been analyzed in the article are "Universalization", "Internacionalization", "Westernization" and "Global-Iocalization". A sixth related concept is "Planetization" in which one tries to assess the great troubles of our time, specially the unfulfilled promises of welfare and the unrest generated by the western civilization. With these antecedents one can begin to formulate a critical analysis of the various dynamics and life's consequences in the world that the phenomenon has adapted to.
