Focus and Scope

The Polisemia Magazine, from the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios (UNIMINUTO) –Headquarters, has published twenty editions in the course of the last ten years, putting in circulation the results of researches and discussions around the diverse subject matters that emerges from the social, from different philosophical and political views; but in phased manner it has been outlining as a publishing house project which influence to the academic community is to present contributions around three great lines of work: peace, development and citizenship, having the conceptions and practices of the nonviolence, the development’s alternatives, the ethics for the life and the conviviality as ethical-political transversal perspectives. 

Polisemia is aimed to a wide public interested in presenting reflections about social contemporary problems in subject matters of peace, nonviolence, gender, alternative economies, development, young ones, social and historical memory, social and resistance movements, poverty and subjectification process. 

The magazine has a fully open call for scientific papers that fulfills the established rules. To send and article is necessary to send it in digital format to the e-mails that appear in the contact us item.

Peer Review Process

Polisemia magazine counts with editorial and scientific committees, and qualified assessor peers, inside and outside the editorial institution.

Each article received is submitted to an evaluation process that takes place in three stages: first it is preliminary reviewed by the editorial committee, in order to establish if it fulfills with the formal requirements of presentation, the subject matter that it deals with must adjust to the reach and focus declared by the magazine, and so constituting a contribution to social knowledge. 

Subsequent to that, in case of presenting investigation’s results, it will be send to an external academic peer who anonymously will determine if the article is approved, approved with corrections or if it’s not approved. In case of doubt, the article will be submitted to a new arbitration. This will realize under the “double blind” system to guarantee, as far as possible, the independency and severity of the concepts.

Last, the editor and/or the editorial committee will decide its publication. Once approved, the authors commits to establish the communication with the editor in order to make the pertinent changes. In case of it being approved, it is required that the authors fill the transferring copyright document about the article, so it’s edition, publication and distribution are made possible in any media or modality: electronic media, cd, printed or any other way, that only aims to scientific, educative and cultural ends. 

Open Access Policy

According to the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International. Its total or partial reproduction in any media or format, with the condition of being quoted clearly and with the complete source, and as long as the copies are not quoted for commercial ends or contents distribution, nor the adaptation, derivation or any kind of transformation of this without the previous authorization of the authors and the direction of Polisemia magazine.

Note: The copyright transferring also implies the authorization by the authors so the work can be placed in the institutional repository and divulged through the database that the editor considers adequate for its indexation, looking to augment the visibility of the publication and its authors.
