Abstract

The paper presents the process developed by the Financial Administration Program, which promotes a financial culture in the older population of the city of Girardot, following the theoretical approach on behavioral finance of the author Leon. M. (2017), where the seniors population has been assumed from a welfare and subsidiary position, without considering their role in society, economy, productivity and impact in the region. The above scenario is evident in the population under study by identifying that in the administration of their money there are no concrete practices that guarantee the improvement of their quality of life. To achieve the proposed objective, a proactive evaluation methodology is recommended when studying the financial reality of the elderly population and being able to promote training in financial aspects.
