Abstract

This article shows the use of the media to address topics related to children and education. The issue is particularly relevant because of the continuous lack of communication skills in children or rural Yucatan, Mexico. The paper exposes as background the links between school and radio with a view of different Latin America countries. Next, we explain our experience in broadcasting with children and subsequently, we analyzed the experience based in two of axes suggested by Rocha et al. (2014), which link to communication and social change. The axes worked here are the relationship between the people in the project, and the relationship build with the territory. This analysis allows contrast the type of management achieved from the proposal of the local school, and the other one organized autonomously considering children as equals.
