Platonic and aristotelian mimesis in contemporary poetry

Abstract

The following article is in line with the mimesis in Aristotle. It will be divided in three parts in which will be understood and taken a stand about the pillars of the Greek philosophy (Plato of Athens and Aristotle of Stageira), master and disciple, but with different thinking about mimesis. For this reason, in the first part of the article will be shown what mimesis is for Aristotle taking into account La poética, which is oriented about this topic in order to explain the tragic plays in that time, due to are based on this imitation of the action men. In the second part will be referenced the mimesis for­mulated in Plato and how in the Aristotle thinking is being influenced partially. Also, it will be shown the differences about mimesis for them. Finally, it will be explained how the narrative Aristotle´s imitation is being admitted for some philosophers in this moment, which one take as a base the philosophy of Aristotle.
