Abstract

Agricultural associations in western Antioquia face limitations in e-commerce, logistics, and the use of digital tools, which restricts their competitiveness and access to markets. The objective of this study was to design, validate, and implement a technological tool for innovative business management of agricultural associations in the western Antioquia subregion, in order to diagnose their level of organizational maturity and guide strategies for strengthening competitiveness. A three-stage methodology (diagnosis, development-validation, and implementation) was developed, combining fieldwork, literature review, meetings with experts, and pilot tests. The tool, based on 102 items organized into six management areas (corporate governance, finance, sales, logistics, digital marketing, and member management), made it possible to characterize the maturity level of 47 associations in 18 municipalities, yielding an average of 48.75%. The results revealed significant weaknesses in logistics and digital marketing and relative strengths in corporate governance and member management, based on which actions such as training programs, institutional coordination, and new routes to market were defined. The tool is an innovation in rural business management, providing structured information for strategic decision-making and highlighting the role of digital transformation in the competitiveness and sustainability of the agricultural associations studied.
