Abstract
Methodology: The methodology proposed by Doctors Ferreiro & Cummings (2012) called MeProb was applied, this one contributed to determine and formulate a possible research problem for the development of a research project in an orderly and systematic way, facilitating the applicability of instruments to the students of the Computer Technology program (TINF), professors the program , the faculty, graduates and to the business sector of the Sede Principal Calle 80, Bogotá Sur and Soacha of the Minuto de Dios University - UNIMINUTO, managing to identify problems, difficulties and / or inconveniences that the students of the program have to acquire the minimum competences necessary for software development.
Results: It was possible to demonstrate that the students do not acquire the minimum competences for logic in programming due to different factors, such as the difficulty of learning, lack of equipment in an Institution to reinforce what has been learned, the language in which the programming language is written, and the difficulty to analyze and solve problems and proposed exercises; this is the reason why, it is necessary to apply a new teaching model.
Conclusion: It is concluded that, there are different causes when a computer science student does not acquire the minimum competences necessary for the development of any software, and that the existing teaching methodologies used by the teacher according to the guidelines of the micro curricula or syllabus, are not always convenient because each student has a different way of learning, so that, it is necessary to apply a new model of teaching that contributes to strengthen and acquire skills in computer science students.
