Abstract

Media concentration is one of the greatest threats to journalism. Few and big companies own a lot of different mass media platforms: diversity of offer, but no pluralism. These media conglomerates take control of public opinion through information. This control is close to their neoliberal interests, because the flow of information is just one more of their bussiness interests. The present paper shows a description of the main Colombian media companies. Then, we show their international connections, and the latter’s presence in Colombian mediatic situation. The conclusions show that Colombia presents a similar scene to the international neoliberal context, in connection with historical imperialist States, that provoques a strong concentration of power.
