Praxeological analysis of media discourse: Carne de tu carne by Carlos Mayolo
Main Article Content
Abstract
My purpose, with this reflection article, is to follow the temporal, spatial and symbolic development of a cultural object as it appears informed and configured in public opinion thanks to the media and critique; in this specific case, I take as a reference the film Carne de tu Carne by Carlos Mayolo, which portrays a crucial time in Colombian history, such as the modernization process promoted by General Rojas Pinilla in the midst of delirious political violence and on the eve of the questioned National Front. The use of the praxeological approach that I make here intends to highlight, within the analysis of some journalistic discourses on the film (analysis, critique), both certain features of Colombian critique and its interpretive work when linking the film with the cinematographic field, the context local-national, the contemporary world, ordinary viewers, and philosophical concepts or reflections.
