Abstract

The following document presents a descriptive and differential study of the results of the Saber 11 tests between the years 2014-2016, taking as a source of information the database provided by the ICFES in which are the scores and self-reports of the student body of the municipality of La Plata. The results show
differences in the total scores of the Saber 11 tests of the population groups analyzed, associated with sociodemographic variables, such as geographical location and sex. The highest scores correspond to the male population groups, belonging to urban areas, while the lowest correspond to the female groups,
belonging to rural areas. These results show that the principle of equity required to meet the criteria of quality education raised in public policy is not being achieved by educational institutions. For this reason, it is proposed to carry out analytical studies and generate relevant lines of action in the face of the problems observed.
