Abstract

Social media and communication professionals take on the challenge to participate in communities for the inclusion of socio-cultural policies which support the work to promote cultural heritage, with views to an equitable society, of social and cultural rights.

One of the obstacles affecting inclusion in Colombia, particularly in Zipaquirá, is a low rate of citizen participation. This is the reason why the authors of this paper propose to start working from the academy to reduce this problem. This is possible if we look for new strategies, with social inclusion as a national goal, provided with tools which enhance local competences.
