Abstract

In a hydrographic basin the knowledge of the specific water movement allows a planning and / or territorial management. The objective of the present radical work in the extraction of climatological data from the area
where the predisposed work farm is located and by the execution of an assembly based on platforms suitable for the relocation, identification, and operation of the Guamal, Meta water storage. Due to this, it was necessary to identify the biological and anthropogenic factors of the farm, because they generated pathological changes, overflows and floods occur, which alter the use of the chosen water basin. So, with the collected information from the GIS (Geographical Information System) the hydrological design began using software as Qgis and Python to denote the installation of a rainwater reservoir in the territory. On the other hand, by performing mathematical calculations and adding data consulted at Ideam (Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental studies), it was determined from the Thornthwaite method that the aquifer recharge capacity that would have the zone destined for the establishment of the reservoir is 984.88mm/year, which will be correctly approach for new projects that need the reservation of this hydrologic resource.
