University professors and communicative competence in their role as orientors a review of recent experiences in Latin America
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present article proposes a revision of experiences of two research works developed in Latin American universities from Argentina and Cuba: “The educational orientation for the formation and development of learning strategies” developed at Universidad de Concepción del Uruguay and “The development of the communicative competence of the university professor at University de Sancti Spiritus ‘José Marti Pérez’”.
Both, from a qualitative approach, intend to comprehend “from the inner conception” the university professor’s role in the current contexts. In this sense, the aim stated in the present article is to contribute to reflection, from constructive criticism, about the functions of the professor at Higher Education as a guidance counselor in the teaching learning process and about the incidence of communicative competence on that process.
The common issues that arise from the fieldwork carried out in both investigations from two different Latin American university contexts are taken as theoretical and methodological bases.
