Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper, the authors analyze the perception of citizens in Facatativá (Cundinamarca, Colombia)
about graffiti in two outstanding education institutes of the municipality, the Colegio Comercial Santa
Rita and the Instituto Técnico Industrial de Facatativá. A former inquiry shows a divided and tensioning
perception, in which this urban expression moves between art and vandalism. For this reason, the theoretical
framework lies on communication theories analyzing graffiti, and a brief review of vandalism.
Methodologically, the authors conducted interviews to inhabitants of the municipality.
