Abstract

This paper presents a proposal for the adaptation of farmers in the province of Alto Magdalena to climate change. Regional research has shown that climatic variables have a direct impact on the transitory crops of the province, with the rainfall index decreasing by 1%, the yield of the sorghum crop decreasing by 0.64%; and with every 1% that this index increases, it has a positive impact on the yield of corn, cotton and irrigated rice crops with an increase of 58.9%, 0.42%, and 11.9% respectively. This makes the farmers of the province vulnerable to climate variables, thus generating the possibility of proposing policies for adapting to climate change.
