The Re-Election of the Governor in the Political System of Misiones Argentina (1983-2015)
Main Article Content
Abstract
In Argentina since the return to democracy in 1983, the provincial constitutions have been gradually modified in relation to the re-election of executive positions. The objective of this article of reflection is to reconstruct the chronology of the governors of the province of Misiones and analyze the effects that the incorporation of the immediate re-election had on the provincial political system, paying special attention to the mechanisms used by the governors to achieve their re-election. It was found that, with the exception of the governor in office at the time of the incorporation of the re-election, all the governors have been re-elected and no governor can be re-elected after the period of alternation. There has also been a failed attempt to modify the constitution.
